Project Planner/Sales Engineer (Food & Beverage Construction Projects, Remote/Hybrid)
We are looking for a Project Planner/Sales Engineer for Food & Beverage Construction Projects (Remote/Hybrid).
Headquartered in Quincy, MA with satellite offices in Atlanta (NW / Galleria) and Minneapolis (Minnetonka).
Job Description – Food & Beverage Construction Planner:
- Define project program requirements.
- Assist in developing project layout.
- Estimate project cost.
- Prepare preliminary subcontractor scope of work for Food & Beverage Construction
- Secure preliminary subcontractor pricing.
- Prepare scope of work / proposal to Owner.
- Negotiate contracts.
- Network within the food industry and attend trade shows.
Qualifications:
- BSE – IE, ME, EE, ET, CNS or related. REQUIRED
- 3+ years’ construction planning of food / beverage or Pharma manufacturing facilities.
- 1+ years’ Technical Sales, desire, or ability.
- Any previous Process, Project, Industrial, Mechanical, Facility, Maintenance or Production Engineering, a plus.
- Understanding of food processing design, flow, and processing equipment.
- Basic utility requirements and food safety design and procedures.
- Good understanding of general contracting.
- Quantity take-offs of materials needed for estimates for project completion.
- Experience writing proposals, negotiating commercial agreements, trouble-shooting customer issues.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates should have a good understanding of warehouse design and operations, food processing facility design and flow, basic utility requirements, and food safety design and procedures.
- Candidates must have good writing and speaking skills and be proficient in Excel, and Word. Experience with Revit, AutoCad, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Powerpoint, and Microsoft Publisher is a plus.
- Candidates must be proficient in quantity take-offs.
- Candidates should have a good understanding of general contracting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. An upbeat, positive, results oriented attitude.
Travel:
Projects are throughout the US. Overnight and some multi-day travel is required. (About 3 nights a month.)
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $110 – 120K, Bonus Range based on Project Profitability $10-160K, 50% of health and dental paid by company, Life / Disability, Company match first 3% of salary dollars of 401K, $500 Monthly Car Allowance, gas card, travel expense and vacation.
