Job Summary for the Reliability Engineering Manager:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Reliability Engineering Manager to oversee reliability improvement efforts and engineering projects at our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability, managing a team of maintenance professionals, and applying engineered solutions to expand process capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, refrigeration, and electrical maintenance, along with a proven record of effective leadership in an industrial environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Implement maintenance systems and practices to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of processing equipment.
  • Manage and lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve high performance.
  • Establish preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Manage third-party service providers and external contractors, ensuring scope, cost, and safety expectations are met.
  • Oversee all service agreements, inspections, and emergency contractor work.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and repair activities to resolve equipment malfunctions and minimize production disruptions.
  • Lead efforts to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions. Collaborate with departments such as production and quality assurance to optimize plant processes and resolve equipment reliability issues.
  • Ensure safety compliance and enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Develop and oversee the maintenance budget, controlling costs while ensuring high equipment reliability standards.
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies and methodologies to enhance facility capabilities.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
  • Provide regular reports on maintenance performance, equipment status, and upcoming activities. Manage capital projects and budgets.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in frozen food processing or a similar industrial setting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of food processing equipment, including fryers, conveyors, and packaging systems.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead a maintenance team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and a commitment to safety.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with maintenance software and computerized maintenance management systems. APSM (Asset Strategy Performance Management) familiarity is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to work off-hours or weekends as needed for emergencies or scheduled shutdowns.
