Vice President Operations, CPG Food Manufacturing, Idaho
(On-site, Relocation) 

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Operations is responsible for the operations strategy development and execution.  This position will lead all aspects of the manufacturing organization including Manufacturing, Quality and R&D, and Engineering. Responsible for promoting the company’s culture through behaviors, actions, and overall leadership style.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Serve on the executive team utilizing technical know-how of manufacturing acumen and key data analytics to drive performance of the plants for quality safety, performance and cost, course correct as necessary, and help set future direction of the manufacturing landscape.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional business partners on manufacturing plans, goals, future product innovation, operational efficiency enhancements, engineering and capital investments. Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.
  • Ensure manufacturing network meets or exceeds needs of the organization, all customer requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Responsible for customer time to fill rates, meeting or exceeding aggregate inventories goals (including inventories of materials, work in-progress, and finished goods), and reduce errors and waste in production.
  • Provide ongoing analysis and recommendations to address identified financial and operational challenges and opportunities leading to increased business performance metrics and net profit.
  • Responsible for talent management (attract, develop, and retain aspects) and succession planning of direct team.
  • Lead, motivate, inspire and drive the success of employees, processes, and procedures.
  • Collaborates with other departments to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Drives retention plan action items to achieve retention goals.
  • Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organizations business plan and vision.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university required. Preferred degrees in engineering, operations management, or business.
  • 8-10 years operations leadership experience – minimum of 5 years food manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of 3 years operations leadership experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment

  • Establishes strong working relationships with key constituents within the organization to build support and ensure the success of long-term goals.
