Warehouse Manager, Food Manufacturing Position Summary

We are looking for a driven leader to serve as our new Warehouse Manager, Food Manufacturing. You will lead and develop a staff responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse including receiving, inventory management, order selection, shipping, and carrier management. Additionally, you will oversee our 3rd party storage facilities and new inventory locations as we expand nationally. Furthermore, his role is perfect for a data and process driven leader who wants to develop a world class supply chain function. Key KPI’s will include OTIF, Inventory Accuracy, Turnover, Labor Efficiency and Freight as a percentage of Gross Revenue.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage all functions performed in the warehouse which includes receiving, inventory management and control, order picking, loading/shipping, and label maintenance.
  • Provide high levels of customer service and order fulfillment [On-Time-In-Full (OTIF)] by driving continuous improvement, root cause analysis and risk mitigation.
  • Train and certify warehouse personnel for the safe operation of powered equipment.
  • Oversee and implement safety initiatives driving the department to zero injuries.
  • Responsible for determining most efficient transportation modes (private fleet, less than truck load, small package), for shipping product to customers.
  • Ensure the physical condition of the warehouse is clean and orderly.
  • Recruit, train, coach & develop a high performing warehouse team.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory product quality and food safety standards.
  • Interface with production, planning, customer service and purchasing functions to insure correct flow of materials.
  • Determine the warehouse/logistics needs to support target customer service levels. Assess and provide guidance on product flow, inventory levels, and rotation for cooler, freezer, non-refrigerated products, raw and packaging.
  • Manage inventory accuracy and cycle count execution.
  • Responsible for fair and timely evaluations of all employees within the department.
  • Manage department labor efficiency metrics.
  • Oversee Warehousing, Freight and Cold Storage budgets.

Skills, Requirements and Minimum Education Level of the

Warehouse Manager, Food Manufacturing

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • 3-5 years in Warehouse/Operations Management roles (food industry preferred)
  • Proven track record of success and has progressed into positions of increasing responsibility. Must have a strong knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain and operational metrics.
  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem- solving skills are essential. Ability to build a team – establish individual performance expectations for direct reports and regularly evaluate their performance against organizational objectives.
