Summary of Import Logistics Operations Manager

(Frozen Food, Santa Cruz County, Onsite, Relocation Assistance)

  • Develops and oversees internal logistics processes, policies, objectives, and initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness and profitability.
  • Manages business needs and contract negotiations with third-party vendors for all freight, transportation, freight forwarders, and brokers.
  • The Manager of Import Logistics Operations manages a team of logistics employees, including hiring, performance management, development, cross-training, team building, and mentoring to ensure professional and profitable support of business needs that aligns with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Participates in the company’s management team, reporting on industry trends and internal performance and spearheading strategic projects with logistics components.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of logistics and transportation experience required with solid knowledge of end-to-end logistics operations, including maritime, over-the-road, rail, customs, and warehousing
  • 3+ years of employee and team management experience required
  • A degree in supply chain management, logistics, or international business is preferred
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, clients, suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Strong systems and analytical skills with the ability to formulate and use data and market trends to create a sustainable, long-term strategy for a growing business

Competitive Compensation Package

  • Base target range $135,000 – $160,000
  • 10% bonus potential
